Psychology is the science of the mind in any of its aspects. It is the study of overt and covert behavior, and the mental processes that govern them. Rooted in the various disciplines like the faculties of philosophy and medicine, psychology today has evolved from a unidimensional to a multidimensional governing body of knowledge about human and animal behavior, and the behaviors of man in a social situation at large.

Guided by the Psychology Department and the College of Science, the BS Psychology program in the University of Santo Tomas has proven its caliber in honing its students in various fields of psychology such as industrial, educational, and in clinical setting. Just recently, the Thomasian Psychology Community celebrated as the Commission on Higher Education awarded the department as Center for Development in Psychology. This new status gives pride to everyone taking the course creating an environment of competence and commitment.
